How does one send money using iMobile Pay?

You can now use iMobile Pay to send money to friends and family across India using your mobile. All you need is: internet connection, an Indian bank account and an Indian phone number.

You can use iMobile Pay to transfer money in the following ways:

For Customers For Non-customers
Send money to any contact or Indian phone number



Send money to any UPI ID
Send money to any contact in India



Send money to any UPI ID



Send money to any bank account using the bank account number and IFSC.

 

How does one send money to contacts using iMobile Pay?

We have simplified things for you! You no longer require Bank Account Numbers, IFSC codes or VPA details to transfer money to friends. Sending money with our ‘Send Money’ to contact feature is very easy.

iMobile Pay allows you to transfer money to any of your contacts, irrespective of the Payment apps they are using. All you have to do is enter their mobile number, select the UPI ID linked to the receiver’s number and transfer the funds, seamlessly. All this, with the added security and safety of ICICI Bank.

Follow these steps to send money to contact using iMobile Pay -

For Customers For Non-customers
Open iMobile Pay app on your phone



Log in to the app and click on BHIM UPI



Click on ‘Pay to contact’



Enter the mobile number of the person you wish to transfer money to. You can also pick the mobile number from contacts on your device by tapping the Address Book icon next to the ‘Mobile Number’ field



Select the UPI ID associated with the receiver’s mobile number and click on proceed



Enter the amount



You can also mention the reason for transfer money. This field is optional



Click on ‘Continue’ to proceed



Verify details and enter your UPI PIN



The amount is now successfully transferred to your contact



Your contact, whom the money has been sent to, will receive an SMS and Push notification informing them about the transaction

Open the iMobile Pay app on your phone



If you haven’t linked your bank account, click on ‘Link Account’, under the ‘Card’ section



If you have already done so, click on the ‘Send Money’ option on the dashboard to proceed



Select ‘Pay to Contact’, and click on ‘Pay to New Contact’, to transact



Enter the mobile number of the person you wish to transfer the money to. You can also pick the mobile number from the contacts on your device by tapping the ‘Address Book’ icon next to the ‘Mobile Number’ field



Select the UPI ID associated with the receiver’s mobile number and click on ‘Proceed’



Enter the amount



You can also mention the reason for the transfer. This field is optional



Click on ‘Continue’ to proceed



You will be asked to enter your UPI PIN for a successful transaction



The amount is now successfully transferred to your contact.

How does one send money to a UPI ID using iMobile Pay?

You can now transfer money to any UPI ID in India with our ‘Send money to UPI ID’ option.

Please follow the steps to make a transaction using ‘Send money to UPI ID’.

Open iMobile Pay app on your phone



Log in to the app and click on BHIM UPI



Click on ‘Send Money’



Enter the UPI ID of the person whom you wish to transfer money to



Click on ‘Verify’. The app will automatically fetch the name of the customer. Check if the name is correct, as per the bank



Enter the amount you wish to send



You can also mention the reason for sending money. This field is optional



Click on ‘Continue’ to proceed



Verify details and enter your UPI PIN



The required amount is now successfully transferred to your contact



When the money has been sent, you will receive an SMS from your bank with the debited amount.



Your contact, whom the money has been sent to, will receive an SMS and Push notification informing them about the transaction
Open iMobile Pay



Click on the ‘Send Money’ option in the dashboard



Click on ‘Send Money to UPI ID’



Click on ‘Pay to new UPI ID’ at the bottom of the screen



Once you have clicked on the ‘Pay to new UPI ID’ option, enter the UPI ID of the receiver. Once you enter the UPI ID, the app will automatically fetch the name of the customer. Click on ‘Confirm’ to proceed



Once you have entered the UPI ID, in the next screen, enter the amount



Make sure you enter the correct details. Once you send the money, the transaction cannot be cancelled



Click on ‘Proceed to Pay’



Enter your UPI PIN.

Note:If your transaction to your contact’s bank account fails, the bank might debit the money from your bank account and then refund it. In this case, you will receive two SMSes, one for the debit and the second for refund.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

With iMobile Pay, you can send money to any contact with any payment app such as Phone Pe, G Pay, Paytm, Amazon Pay, BHIM, or any other banking app.

When someone sends you money to your mobile number using iMobile Pay, they can select your UPI ID on which you want the money to be transferred. You will receive the money in your bank account linked to that UPI ID.

Any payment made through UPI is instant and cannot be cancelled or reversed once the UPI PIN has been entered.

Payment to any contact can be made only if that contact has a UPI ID associated with a bank. Please check with your contact if they have a UPI ID linked with a bank.

For ICICI Bank, account limits will be decided as per the bank’s policy. ICICI Bank may change the transaction limit for UPIs under the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) upper limits, as per the bank’s policy. The upper limit mandated by NPCI is Rs 1 lakh per transaction and Rs 1 lakh cumulative transaction value.

There is a limit of 20 transactions per day, including all UPI Debit transactions.

When you enter a contact and click on ‘Verify’, the Account Holder’s name (as mentioned in the bank’s system) will be displayed. This is for you to cross check that the sender and the bank account to which you want to send money are the same. In case they appear different, please re-confirm the VPA of the receiver. Money once sent through iMobile Pay cannot be reversed.

Zero charges for up to transactions per month. From the 21st transaction: Rs will be charged for transactions less than or equal to Rs 1,000 and Rs for transactions above Rs 1,000 will be applicable. (UPI Sends Money/Transfers Money to people basis the VPA or Bank Account and IFSC. Charges are applicable for transactions beyond per month using the banking app or through any 3rd party app. Goods and Services Tax (GST) at prevailing rates are applicable over and above the listed charges.)

No charges are applicable for merchant payments, online shopping transactions and bill payments.
