What is Corporate Fixed Deposit? 

A Corporate Fixed Deposit is an investment product offered by banks to its customers. An FD promises guaranteed returns that are calculated on the basis of interest offered at the time of opening the FD Account. Interest rates may differ depending upon the tenure and amount invested. Who is eligible for Corporate FD?

Proprietorship, Partnership, Limited Liability Partnership, Private Limited Company, Public Limited Company, Trust, Government entity, Societies etc. can book Corporate Fixed Deposits.

Is premature withdrawal/liquidation permitted before maturity in Corporate FD?

 

Yes. When customers book a Corporate Fixed Deposit they can prematurely close the FD.

 

How to apply for/book Corporate FD?

 

ICICI Bank allows customers to book FD through CIB, InstaBIZ, API and Branches.

 

 

What is the minimum lock-in period for a Corporate FD?

 

Minimum lock-in period for a Corporate FD is 7 days.

 

What are the types and features of FDs and their available interest payout options?

 

There are two types of Corporate FDs.

Cumulative FDs - In Cumulative FD interest is calculated on quarterly basis and reinvested back into the principal amount. At the time of maturity interest is paid to the customer along with principal amount.

  • Minimum deposit amount: Rs 10,000

  • Tenure of deposit: Minimum 6 months and maximum 10 years

  • Interest is compounded quarterly

Traditional FDs have 3 types of interest payout

  1. Monthly payout FD - interest is paid to the customer on completion of the month.

    • Minimum deposit amount: Rs 10,000

    • Tenure of deposit: Minimum 3 months and maximum 10 years

  2. Quarterly payout FD - Interest is paid to the customer on completion of the quarter.

    • Minimum deposit amount: Rs 10,000

    • Tenure of deposit: Minimum 3 months and maximum 10 years

  3. Period payout FD - Interest is paid to the customer on completion of the entire tenure.

    • Minimum deposit amount: Rs 10,000

    • Tenure of deposit: Minimum 7 days and maximum 185 days

 

When does one receive the interest payment?

 

 

Interest can be paid quarterly, monthly, cumulative or on maturity.
